EVALUATE YOUR SERVICES UNTO GOD

 EVALUATE YOUR SERVICES UNTO GOD

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:1-8

There is no doubt that with God on our side, we see the 52 Sundays in this historical year that shake the entire world with a common sickness called COVID-19 [Coronavirus]. Despite the challenges, kidnapping, killings, frustration, persecution, attacking, etc., we are here today to celebrate the goodness of God for seen the last Sunday of the year in peace and happiness. Glory be to God for His wonderful works in our lives. Without apology, God deserved our evaluation and appreciation.

As a child of God, it is mandatory for us to evaluate ourselves and commit to the services of God and to our community. If God can spare our lives for 365 days, surely, we should critically examine our ways if we are still in faith as the Bible commanded us.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 Corinthians 13:5.

Before you evaluate yourself, let us evaluate the promises of God for us early this year, so that we can know if God fulfills His promises or not.

Let us examine the promises of God as He promised us at the beginning of this year:

Protections.

At the beginning of this year, God promised to protect us 24/7 and anywhere we are, and definitely, He protects us throughout the year. Is there anyone that does not travel among your family this year? Who keeps them safe from the accident? Who protects them from the harmful enemy? Do you remember millions of people that died this year as a result of Coronavirus [Covid-19]? Is there anyone that does not receive the protection of God from your family this year? Beloved, God deserves your evaluation.  Nothing protecting you from evil than the power and presence of God.

Provisions.

Provisions for our daily and immediate needs are provided by God as He promised. Everything we need to sustain ourselves, family, and other related were made available by God. Besides, the breath lives, and healthy are provisions of God without measure. God provides for our physical needs as well as spiritual desires. I don’t think you can calculate the amount you spend on food items this year. The same as water, and other essential things that sustain you and your family.

Promotions.

If you can evaluate the promotions given to you this year, you will be discovered that it is incomparable. The promotion that God gave you started with additional 365days to your years on earth. He added one year to your age is a promotion that you cannot buy from the market or inherit from any man or woman on this earth. Despite the COVID-19, you are elevated in your office. Your sources of income and finances increased. Many good things that change your last year's level happens to you this year. That’s the blessing and promotion of God.

Preservations.

Preservation of our lives, properties, etc. from attackers, is another promise of God, and He keeps it for us through the 365 days. Our God is a wonderful God that keeps promises. Our health does not decay. He preserves us from a general virus that holds the world stand still for many months.

Proactive Responses.

Our heavenly Father promises to listen to our request and answer us, and He did. In all the prayers we offer unto God this year, He proactive responds even more than our requests. Is there any prayer we offer unto God that is NOT an answer? There is no one! God never delay responses to our prayers anytime. He proved His lovely Father that answer His children more than what they request for.

Practical Restoration of the lost glory.

God told us at the beginning of this year that, 2020 is the year of restoration of our lost glory. There is no doubt that everyone that join this daily prayer bombs ministry experience restoration of the lost glory in one way or the other like restoration of the lost cars, houses, lands, relationship, Jobs, marriage, health, finances, etc. I was amazed by the countless testimonies from different people around the world for what God has done in their lives, marriages, business, ministry, finances, studies, etc.

Beloved, if our God can do all these and others for us this year, I think we should evaluate ourselves to know if we also fulfill the promises we make to God at the beginning of the year. My question to you is that, “do you fulfill all the promises you make with God at the beginning of this year?”

Let us examine some of the promises WE make with God:

Walk-in holiness and lives righteousness.

On the very day, you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you are indirectly making a promise to walk in holiness and lives righteousness with Him, and the first thing God is expecting from you is to walk in holiness and lives righteousness. Do you fulfill these promises? Numerous Christians are not faithful to these promises. How is your dressing this year – does it glorify God, or expose your nakedness? Your walk with God should be holy and righteous. It is a pity that many preachers of the gospel are not walk-in holiness with God. In many local assemblies, righteousness has turn to mind your business affairs. Holiness and righteousness are not in their watchword. Many Christians have polluted their community with immorality and unholy living. What a terrible generation we are! Beloved, holiness, and righteousness is not an option, but they are mandatory for every Christian. Leviticus 11:44-45, 1Peter 1:15-16, Hebrews 12:14, Romans 12:1, 1 Timothy 6:11

Working in the House of God.

One of the promises you make at the beginning of the year is that you will work in the house of God through the choir department, Sunday School dept, ushering dept, interpreter, cleaner, children teacher, etc. In your department, do you fulfill your responsibilities in fullness? If God weighs your service in His house this year, what will be your reward? Can God say well done a good servant? Besides, instead of working for the expansion and progress in the house of God, many are work against the progress and minister. Many pastors have turned the work of God to their personal ambition. They are doing the work just to please themselves.

Faithfulness in your services to Him.

Do you worship Him in Truth and in the SPIRIT? John 4:24. Is your message this year focus on evangelism or the Kingdom of God? Do you rebuke people for their sins? Do you correct people when they go wrong? How do you handle the people you are pastoring? Do you allow them to know the truth? What is the focus of your messages this year? Is it on repentance, salvation, or prosperity? How many souls your messages won this year to the Kingdom of God? When you see your church members involved in immorality, what do you do? The politicians in your church, how do you treat them? do you tell them the truth about the way they rule? Those rich and wealthy people, how do you preach to them? do you caution them not to boast because of their wealth? Have you not turned your matrimonial bed to the center of immorality with concubines?

Do you pay your TITHE in full? Malachi 3:8-12. What is the backbone of your income – Jesus or Satan? Are you faithful to God in your tithe and offerings? Do you pay your workers their wages? How do you treat people around you with your wealth?

Is your offering acceptable throughout the year? Do you offer your body as a living sacrifice unto God this year? Remember, you promised God that you will not involve in sexual and other immorality again, do you keep to it?

What of the VOW, etc. that you made? Have you paid for it? Remember, ALL the promises we make in January this year are VOWS. Do you pay for it? Genesis 28:20, Numbers 21:2, 30:2.

Vow of praising Him daily – Psalm 61:8

Be warned!

“When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?” Ecclesiastes 5:4-6

How many souls did you win to the Kingdom of God this year? Do you remember how many people your attitudes, actions, and reactions have chased out of the church this year? People are run away from Jesus Christ because of your characters and you did not evaluate yourself. People are mocking the name of Jesus Christ because of you and you did not even take it as a serious offense. How long you will keep yourself on the blacklist of God?

Finally, 2 Corinthians 13:5, If God will give us a marked base on our services unto Him this year, what mark do you think you will receive from Him? Is what God doing for you this year is the result of your services unto Him? I think is NO. Therefore, you must be ever ready to serve Him, worship Him, and work for Him in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead of you.
