Bible Reading: Colossians 2:1-10

“1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

8 Beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:1-10

Generally, we are in a generation when much of God's Word is "kept back" in the church. Many pastors, evangelists, prophets, and other ministers fear to preach the true word of God. They prefer to hide under the prosperity messages that cannot save souls. Numerous who stand in pulpits today fear to proclaim the whole counsel of God because they don’t want their members to leave their assembly; they don’t want people to be offended so that they will not pay their tithes and offerings. While some fear of been sack or transfer to the local area if they preach the truth, and other related. What a shame!

Our society is full of evil deeds like corruption, kidnapping, killing, stealing and robbery, oppression, lying, and deceit as well as homosexuality and others because the Christian leaders fail to condemn the evil practicing in the church and in society as a whole. Mind you, whatever evil that is happening today is originated from the pity of hell backup by Satan.

Satan personally plants fear into the heart of people so that they will not preach the whole counsel of God that can heal, deliver, and set people free.

The Holy Bible warned the church about worldly philosophies which is one of the three Satanic threats to the Word of God. That’s, worldly philosophies are Satan's way to take the church out of the realm of sound doctrine. Many churches are practicing worldly philosophies today just to entertain the congregation.

In Colossians 2:4-9, Paul defends the preeminence of Christ and His Word against the evil of worldly philosophy.

“And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

Pagan philosophy was a threat to Christendom during the time the Apostle Paul wrote this epistle to Colossians. Moreover, this same pagan philosophy is a threat to the church today. The present-day church embraces and preaching man's word, man's wisdom, man's methods, and man's idols, all these have been replaced the Word of God that rebuke, correct, deliver and set free. Many preachers do not follow God’s ordained principles but follow their own self methods that deceive, corrupt, and hindering people to know the truth that can set them free. Any preacher that does not condemn evil, rebuke worldly practicing in the church, as well as preaching against corruption and other related are pagan philosophy preachers.

The Bible commanded us to: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4

 Many people are under the doctrine of pagan philosophy where sinful man exalts himself above Jesus Christ. No preaching of repentance and rebuking immorality. The faith of many people has been weary and cold. Remember, Jesus Christ condemned the deeds of the churches that involve in pagan philosophies:

“But I have a few things against thee because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.” Revelation 2:14-15

Nothing can change who Jesus is and what He has done for our salvation. Jesus Christ is and must be preeminent in His true Church, there is no place, no room, for worldly philosophy in it. It is the Christian response to fight against any pagan doctrine that has taken over the church of God and society.

Beloved, if you don’t want the wrath of God to fall upon you, give yourself to reading and mediation in the Word of God daily. Read and study your Bible for the full knowledge and wisdom of God. Don’t allow any preacher to deceive you. You have a hundred percent opportunity to know more about what God says and what He needs from you. This can be achieved through study and meditating in the Word of God daily.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

In 1 Timothy 4:13-16, as Apostle Paul urged Timothy to give attendance to reading the Bible, and the doctrine of Jesus Christ, so also the word of God commanded us to give more attention to study the Holy Bible, obey the doctrine of Jesus Christ and we should continue preaching the truth until Jesus Christ come back – Rapture.

“Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect, not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” 1 Timothy 4:13-16

Are you among the pagan philosophies’ preachers or you’re among their followers? Is your faith in Christ wear or cold? Are you on fire for God’s work and His Kingdom? Well, you know your deeds and to be sincere with yourself, repentance should be your action now.

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3-5

Come back to God now, confess all your pagan philosophies doctrine unto Him, ask for forgiveness, and washing away your sins through the Blood of Jesus Christ.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” 1 John 1:7-10

PRAYER AGAINST WORLDLY PHILOSOPHY IN THE CHURCH

1.      Father, I confess all my sins unto You, forgive and wash me clean with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

2.      Father, deliver me from the spirit of worldliness, in the name of Jesus.

3.      Father, by the blood of Jesus Christ, I uproot every seed of worldly philosophies planted in my heart, in the name of Jesus.

4.      Father, deliver me from the spirit of heresies, in the name of Jesus.

5.      By the power in the blood of Jesus, overcome the pagan doctrines in my assembly, in the name of Jesus.

6.      By the blood of Jesus, I break every antichrist protocol against my life, in the name of Jesus.

7.      By the blood of Jesus, I break every antichrist agenda against my ministry, in the name of Jesus.

8.      By the blood of Jesus, I break every antichrist assignment attached to my life, in the name of Jesus.

9.      The spirit of weariness and cold in faith, die in the name of Jesus.

10.  The spirit of backwardness that dominated my ministry, die by thunder, in the name of Jesus.

11.  Father, rekindle the Holy Ghost fire in me, in the name of Jesus.

12.  Father, let the fire of the Holy Ghost destroy every pagan philosophies seed in my life, in the name of Jesus.

13.  Father, let the fire of your word burn in me, in the name of Jesus.

14.  My Father and my Lord, revive me with your word in the name of Jesus.

15.  My Father and my Lord, revive me with the Holy Ghost fire, in the name of Jesus.

16.  Every yoke of pagan philosophies in my life broken by fire, in the name of Jesus.

17.  Every chain of pagan philosophies tied my ministry, be broken by fire, in the name of Jesus.

18.  Every seed of pagan philosophies planted in the life of Christians be uprooted by the blood of Jesus.

19.  Father, let the heart of every Christians continue to hunger for your word in the name of Jesus.

20.  Father, don’t allow me to be deceived by pagan doctrines, in the name of Jesus.

21.  Every activity of pagan philosophies in my environment, be scattered by fire, in the name of Jesus.

22.  Every canopy of pagan doctrines that cover the mind of people, be removed by the blood of Jesus.

23.  Father, help me to know you more and more, in the name of Jesus.
