Bible Reading: Genesis 34:1-5

“1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.

2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

4 And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.

5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they have come.” Genesis 34:1-5

Generally, everyone born into this world has a future or purpose to fulfil, however, to secure the future and destiny is a major problem for many people. Whatever our future will start from yesterday, and today is the continuation of things it entails to fulfil your future. In order words, what you do today is the outcome of what will happen to you tomorrow. If you cannot secure your future now, it will be another challenge for you tomorrow.

Your tomorrow or future can be perfected and corrected today; I mean now. Beloved, what you do or involve yourself with today lead to what you become tomorrow.

Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob failed to secure her future, and she reaps destruction. She was a daughter that has many opportunities because she is the only daughter out of twelve children in the family. There is no doubt that Dinah has a glorious destiny and bright future, but her inability to secure it caused her to lost it. She has everything in her possession to secure her future, but wrong association destroyed everything.

Beloved, there is no one who can secure your future for you except you. Nobody is responsible for your destiny, future or the purpose of your existence. If you don’t secure your future now, you may weep for it tomorrow and tomorrow may be too late. Many giants, destroyers and stealers of glory, destiny and future are out there to war and terminate against the glory of the children of God so that they will not fulfil their purpose or have successful future.

Factors that can destroy future or the purpose of God for His Children

§  Wrong choices

§  Bad companies.

§  Ungodly friendship

§  Character deficiencies

§  Ungodly decisions

§  Evil habits

§  Pleasure in sinful habits.

§  Disobedience to divine commandments.

§  Etc.

All the above are the factors that can destroy, kill and steal your glory, render your future useless and lead you to unprofitable destination.

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1 Corinthians 15:33

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21

The only thing you can do now is to make use of the compass and the wheel that will drive you to the right destination.

“My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:” Proverbs 1:10-15

Surrender yourself to Jesus Christ, allow Him to be your Lordship and the Pilot of your journey. Corporate with the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to guide and direct your path. Let the Holy Bible be your manual. Study and meditate it daily and obey everything written therein.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

Finally, power yourself with daily fervent and violent prayers. Don’t weary to pray, don’t stop in prayer and never procrastinate in prayer.

“Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
